Donepezil Hydrochloride

Donepezil hydrochloride (brand name Aricept) is a prescription medication used primarily to treat mild to severe Alzheimer's disease, slowing cognitive decline by increasing acetylcholine, a brain chemical vital for memory and thinking, by inhibiting its breakdown. It's a cholinesterase inhibitor, available as tablets or orally disintegrating tablets, and while it improves symptoms, it doesn't cure the disease, with common side effects including nausea, diarrhea, and insomnia.
