Captopril

Captopril is an ACE inhibitor medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), heart failure, and kidney disease (diabetic nephropathy) by relaxing blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood, reducing strain, and lowering stroke/heart attack risk. It works by blocking chemicals that constrict vessels, improving blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart, and is taken several times daily, often on an empty stomach, as prescribed.
