Haloperidol (Haldol) is a first-generation (typical) antipsychotic drug used for schizophrenia, Tourette's syndrome, severe agitation, and delirium, working by blocking dopamine in the brain to manage psychosis, but it carries risks like extrapyramidal symptoms (movement issues), QT prolongation (heart rhythm), drowsiness, and orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure upon standing).
