Finasteride

Finasteride is a prescription medication, sold as Propecia and Proscar, used primarily by men to treat male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH, or enlarged prostate) by inhibiting the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Common side effects include decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, and reduced semen volume, and pregnant women must not handle crushed tablets due to severe birth defect risks in male fetuses
